Site Security
Security is probably one of the most significant concerns for both the shopper and retailer during an online transaction. In reality an online transaction is probably more secure than a card transaction in a shop or conducted over the telephone or by fax, as the information transmitted online is highly encrypted using complicated logarithm combinations.
Curves and Lace payments are processed by Protx using their VSP Server which talks directly to our web server over a 128-bit encrypyed secure channel, exchanging digitally signed messages to register transactions and notify us of authorisation results.
For security, no sensitive information is sent via your browser. During a transaction you will be redirected to Protx and so we will do not have access to, or store any of your card details. Protx maintains all highly secure encrypted databases and digital certificates.

Security for the Shopper
Any communication between the shopper and Protx is also encrypted to the maximum strength supported by the shopper's browser using TLS or 256 bit SSL. Shoppers are also protected from fraudulent use of their card in a 'card not present' environment by their card issuers. The card issuers provides the right for the shopper to dispute a transaction if the goods/services do not arrive or if the card was used fraudulently.
Transaction Encrytion
The transfer of the purchase details from the retailer's site to Protx is encapsulated using digitally signed certificates.
Data Storage
Data storage on Protx systems, and the communication between Protx and the worldwide banking networks, is regularly audited by the banking authorities to ensure a secure transaction environment. Protx also ensure that they stay up-to-date with the latest versions of any third-party code they use, and continually review their own proprietary code.
